What is the difference between funds refund and recovery?

Refunds of funds paid through the payment gateway can only be made in the case of:

  • underpayment – when insufficient funds are sent to complete the payment,

  • overpayment – when too many funds are sent as compared to the declared payment amount,

  • payment after the expiration of the payment gateway – the payment gateway, by default, is valid for 7 days. If the payment is made after this time, only a refund of the deposited funds is possible. 

 

On the other hand, recovery of funds occurs if the deposit is made in an incorrect way, such as:

  • a transfer on a different network than supported by the payment gateway,

  • sending funds in a different currency than declared, e.g., sending Bitcoin Cash to a Bitcoin address; 

  • in the case of some currencies, depositing funds to an incorrect payment tag or memo, or completing the transfer without them.
